Concept Statement Based in 1941, in an American household. The purpose of this play was to create awareness of fascism, anti-fascism, and the people it effects in the United States. Lillian achieved this by giving the public what they love: family. This play is very light hearted in the beginning, since it’s about a family being reunited. However, throughout the play there’s a mysterious essence of insecurities since the audience doesn’t know what Kurt does for a living.
